September 17, it’s one year since passengers of Moscow Domodedovo Airport opened a new tourist destination - the island of Sri Lanka, inscribed with intricate ornament into the history of the ancient Asian civilization.
The visit to the center of Ceylonese culture - Buddhist temples in Dambulla rock, and the queue of giant Budda statues in Polonnaruwa – became possible with the entry of the national carrier of the Republic of Sri Lanka - SriLankan Airlines – into the Moscow market of airline services. The carrier has chosen Moscow Domodedovo Airport as its partner, from which, twice a week - Wednesdays and Saturdays, is operating its flights from Moscow to Colombo on comfortable Airbus aircrafts, equipped with the state-of-art version of the infotainment system Panasonic eFX Audio Video On Demand.
“During the first year since the start of flights from Moscow to Colombo, Domodedovo Airport has handled over 100 flights of SriLankan Airlines, which has carried more than 20,000 travelers,- said Igor Borisov, Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport. - We value our South Asian partner, and we are confident that our further cooperation will be successful and useful. Understanding of common goals and joint search for optimal solutions will allow us to achieve good results in the future.”
