ANA Group, Japan’s largest airline group, today announces that it has launched a new route for daily flights between Delhi and Tokyo. The first daily flight (NH917) left Tokyo on Oct 28 with all seats occupied. The return flight (NH918) left today.

The Delhi-Tokyo route is ANA’s second route in India, the Group has been operating flights between Mumbai and Tokyo since 2007. The increase in flights on the new route will expand ANA’s network between India and Japan, and will also link passengers to ANA’s route network in North America via Tokyo, which currently includes New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and will be expanded to include San Jose next January.

Takashi Shiki, Senior Vice President of ANA commented: “2012 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and India. It is also the 60th anniversary of ANA. In such a commemorative year, we are very pleased to have launched our second route in India in the capital of Delhi. ANA plans to increase its international network 22% over FY2011 by FY2013. And we believe that increasing flights to and from India is a significant step forward in achieving ANA’s goal of becoming “Asia’s Number One Airline Group.”
