" The 25 th Conference and General Meeting of the Airports Association in Romania in the period 2-4 th October 2017, took place in Craiova, being the most important event in the aeronautic industry in Romania. Considering the fact that the passengers traffic registered in  the first term in 2017 a  spectacular increase of 30% in comparison with the same period last year, the main discussion topics were linked to the development of the airport infrastructure, the management of the passengers traffic, the security and safety in the field of the civil aviation. In 2017 the passengers traffic in the airports in Romania will exceed 21 million,  surpassing for the first time the country' s population and  this marks a historic event for the civil aviation in Romania.
 
The conference was opened by Mr David Ciceo, the president of the Airports Association in Romania, who underlined the the importance of the airports in the development of the regional economy.
 
The discussions were grouped around 5 sessions of presentations: The development of the airports in the period 2018-2020, the security and safety of the airports in the international context, revenues and services for airports, modern technologies for the airport industry and the airlines in the next decade. 
 
The event reunited 150 proffesional guests from the civil aviation field in Romania, among these we can mention:The State Secretary in the Transports Ministry Dragos Virgil Titea, The President of Dolj City Council Ion Prioteasa, The Mayor of Craiova Municipality  Mihail Genoiu, The Manager of the Air Transport Direction in the Ministry of Transports Mihail-Victor Ionescu, The General Manager of the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority  Armand Petrescu,, representatives of ROMATSA, of the Romanian Service of Information, of the Border Police, of the Transports Police as well as traditional partners of the airports."
